Webinar: Advocating for People Living with Dementia
This webinar will explore how Best Life advocates for people living with dementia (PLWD) to have expanded experiences and choices, as well as the right for rehabilitation. Anne Ellett, NP, MSN, will examine the belief that PLWD should not be defined by their diagnoses.
Advocacy means that PLWD should not be defined by their diagnoses and by focusing on their retained talents and perceiving them as adults, we can advocate for PLWD to have expanded experiences and choices and the right for rehabilitation.
In addition, it is important to recognize that both PLWD and their family members may have been traumatized by their interactions with the fragmented health care system and will benefit from advocacy.

Featuring world-renowned expert on dementia care, Dr. Al Power, this webinar will explore the problems with the framework of "Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia" (BPSD) and introduce an approach that instead focuses on enhancing well-being.
